Today’s Supreme Court ruling and message to employers is that subsidies are legal and employers need to continue to comply with PPACA. The PPACA rules and regulations that employers know and anticipate are not changing as a result of today’s decision. As such, it’s important for employers to remember that they must strive to comply with all of the PPACA regulations that are currently in effect, including, the Employer Shared Responsibility Mandate.
Employers must also continue their efforts to prepare with the fast approaching new requirements, such as, the employer reporting obligations under Sections 6055 and 6056 of the IRS Code.
